Updated DRC Shelter and Settlement Sector Profile 2024

It is 2024 and the humanitarian situation in South Sudan continues to remain dire and at a critical point, with over 2.4 million people urgently needing emergency shelter and non-food items (NFIs) due to the ongoing conflict and severe flooding that had devastated the country. The conflict, marked by violence, displacement, and instability, disrupted communities, leaving them without secure housing and basic necessities. Continuous clashes and strife forced many families to flee, rendering them vulnerable and in desperate need of shelter solutions. The scarcity of stable living conditions exacerbated the already dire situation, as families struggled to find safety and security amidst the unrest.
