How is it going between us: Community dialogue report
DRC protection monitoring findings in Poland reveal concerning trends in deteriorating relations between hosting and Ukrainian refugee communities, with a decreasing sense of solidarity since the initial months after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Despite this, the arrival of around 1 million refugees has irreversibly changed the social fabric of Poland. DRC Polska, in collaboration with Fundacja Nowej Wspólnoty, piloted the community dialogue methodology in Gdynia to assess its effectiveness in mitigating intercommunal conflicts. The report provides an overview of the pilot and specific recommendations for supporting social cohesion based on dialogue participants' perspectives and preparatory research.
