Shelter and Settlement Sector Summary.

By 2022, the dire humanitarian situation in South Sudan had reached a critical point. Over 2.4 million people were in urgent need of emergency shelter and non-food items (NFIs). The main causes of this crisis were the ongoing conflict and severe flooding that had devastated the country. The conflict in South Sudan, marked by violence, displacement, and instability, continues to disrupt communities, leaving them without secure housing and basic necessities. Continuous clashes and strife have forced many families to flee, leaving them vulnerable and desperately in need of shelter solutions. The scarcity of stable living conditions worsens an already dire situation, as families struggle to find safety and security amidst the unrest.
